Where the data comes from
The system reads public data (no login needed) from the Earn pages of Binance, OKX, Bybit, Bitget, Gate, HTX, MEXC, KuCoin and Nexo, and from DefiLlama for established DeFi protocols (Aave, Compound, Morpho, Spark, Sky, Fluid, Maple, Lido, Rocket Pool, Jito, Marinade, Kamino, Jupiter Lend, Venus, Lista, Ethena). Each source is refreshed every 1–24 hours.
How rates are calculated
- Top rate is the best tier the platform advertises, usually applied only to the first few hundred USD.
- Base rate is the rate for the amount above the promotional tier (for Gate staking: excluding time-limited rewards).
- Staking rates are compared after the platform’s commission. Where the platform shows the rate before its fee (currently Gate ETH staking, 6% of the staking reward, not of the GT bonus) it is converted to the after-fee rate; where the basis could not be confirmed, each product says so.
- Every rate is an APR (simple yearly rate). DeFi protocols publish APY (compounded); it is converted to the APR equivalent with daily compounding so it compares like for like with exchanges.
- What you earn on X USD is the rate averaged across the tiers, weighted by the amount in each, with coins converted at market price.
- Exchanges publish APR (simple interest); DeFi publishes APY (compounding included). The difference is small for rates under 10%.
- Offers only for new users, first deposits or VIPs are hidden by default so the comparison is fair.
- Nexo only publishes the rates of its top loyalty tier (at least 10% of the portfolio in NEXO tokens, portfolio over 5,000 USD), so every Nexo product is grouped as “VIP required” and hidden from the default comparison. Lower tiers earn less.
- KuCoin: only savings and staking products are counted; structured products (Dual, Sharkfin, Snowball…) can lose capital, so they are not compared as deposit interest.
Risk
- Risk tiers A/B/C: each exchange and protocol gets a tier by public rules from sourced facts (proof of reserves, licences, incidents, audits, TVL). See Risk profiles.
- Centralized exchanges (CEX): the exchange holds your assets. Risk of insolvency, hacks and frozen withdrawals.
- DeFi: risk of smart-contract bugs, oracles, stablecoins losing their peg, and your own wallet's security.
- BTC, ETH, BNB and SOL prices swing hard; interest paid in coins does not protect the USD value.
Where it is legal
The country in the “I am in” box is detected from your IP address; you can change it, and your choice always wins. If no country is detected, the site shows every platform, unfiltered. The country is determined from the IP by Cloudflare, which relays traffic to APY Board; APY Board only receives the country code and does not store the IP for this. Each exchange has a legal status per country, taken from regulators’ registers and notices (ESMA’s MiCA CASP register, VARA in Dubai, OJK and Satgas PASTI in Indonesia, SEC Nigeria) and from the exchange’s own terms of use. Every entry shows its source and review date. Vietnam has no register yet because no exchange has been licensed under Resolution 05/2025. Exchanges that do not serve a country or are banned by its regulator are hidden from everything that helps you choose where to deposit (comparison tables, suggestions by amount, rate moves); unlicensed exchanges still appear, with a label. Reference pages (platforms, risk profiles, data status) still list every exchange so you have the information, with its legal label and without rate comparison. Turn on “Licensed only” to see only exchanges licensed in your country (DeFi protocols have no licence per country, so they are hidden). This is reference information, not legal advice; rules change quickly, and you are responsible for complying with the law where you live.
Referral (affiliate) links
The “… Earn page” button goes to the exchange’s official site. A referral link (which pays APY Board a commission) is used only when the country you chose allows it and the exchange is licensed in that country; the button is then always labelled “referral link”. In Vietnam, APY Board uses no referral links, because no listed exchange is licensed under Resolution 05/2025/NQ-CP, and from 1 September 2026 Decree 284/2026/ND-CP penalizes advertising and marketing of unlicensed crypto-asset services. Commissions, if any, never affect ranking, the rates shown or risk tiers. Clicks are only counted anonymously (no IP or personal data stored).
Weekly newsletter and your data
The Telegram bot, the weekly newsletter and the rate alerts are in Vietnamese only. Before sending anything, the bot shows a notice on the purpose, the data, where it is processed and how to cancel, and subscribes you only when you press “Đồng ý” (Agree); the newsletter and alerts are two separate consents. APY Board keeps the exact notice you agreed to and the time of consent as proof. Requests not agreed to are deleted after 1 day. When you subscribe, APY Board stores your Telegram chat id (for a private chat, this is your Telegram user id) only to send messages, together with the subscription date and the alert threshold you chose; it does not store your name, phone number or portfolio. Type /unweekly to cancel the newsletter, /stop to cancel everything: the chat id is deleted at once from the recipient list and from the consent record (only the time of consent, the time of cancellation and an unsubscribe counter remain). If you block the bot, the deletion happens automatically. The queue of sent messages (which contains chat ids) is kept for at most 30 days, then deleted. To prevent abuse, IP addresses are one-way hashed with a secret key before being used for rate limits and are deleted after about 1 day; link clicks store no IP.
Privacy
You need no account to use APY Board. The only personal data processed is: your Telegram chat id when you subscribe (see above); your IP address, one-way hashed for rate limits and deleted after about 1 day; and what you write yourself when reporting a wrong figure (without IP or identity). Cookies only store the country you chose in the “I am in” box, your “Licensed only” choice, your language choice and the administrator’s login session; there are no advertising or tracking cookies.
Parties processing data on APY Board’s behalf:
- Cloudflare (USA, global server network): relays and protects all traffic to apyboard.com, so it sees IP addresses and technical browser information; it determines the country from the IP for the “I am in” box. APY Board only receives the country code. Cloudflare processes data under its own privacy policy.
- fly.io (servers in Singapore): runs the website.
- Supabase (servers in Singapore): stores the database.
- Telegram: delivers the newsletter and alerts to you.
This data is therefore transferred and stored outside Vietnam. APY Board does not sell or share personal data with anyone else. Type /stop to the Telegram bot to delete your chat id.
